Established in 953, the Iron Lion of Cangzhou is the largest known and oldest surviving iron-cast artwork in China. It is 5.78 meters high, 5.34 meters long, and 3.17 meters wide. It carries the lotus on its back and is carved with the Diamond Sutra inside. However, as it is more than 1,000 years old, the body of the lion has been damaged severely, including its tail, snout and belly. [2085350/bbs.fengniao.com]
