When you overlook the stainless steel roof of Corridor A of Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, which is under construction, you will see a huge stainless steel plate attached tightly to the steel skeleton. More than one hundred workers are working on the roof. It is understood that Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport has the largest stainless steel roof in continuous welding of all individual buildings in the world. The project is currently progressing smoothly and will be completed soon.

The main body of the airport is scheduled to be finished this year and device debugging will be carried out next year. The parts of the terminal that are not affected by nearby high-speed rail and subway as well as the information center and traffic center have been capped. Preparatory work for the runway is also going well.

According to the plan, the airport will officially replace Qingdao’s old airport in June 2019.
