The 2017 China Qingdao International Fashion Week was launched at the Grand Theater of the Qingdao International Sailboat Center, the venue for the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics sailing competitions, in Qingdao, Shandong on Sept 15.
The fashion week focuses on presenting the vigorous designing powers of new and emerging designers and integrating top industry resources in the country.
Altogether 11 international designers represented France, Thailand, Japan and China with their glamorous fashion shows including the one by Wang Yutao, winner of Golden Thimble Award, China’s top prize for fashion designers.
Another 15 fashion shows were staged at three sub-venues across Qingdao to merge the whole city into the fashion week.
Organized by China National Textile and Apparel Council, Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and Qingdao government, the fashion week aims to promote innovation in the textile and fashion industry, to improve product quality, and to push for industrial transformation.
