The eight bathing beaches of Qingdao received 18.8 million visitors in the first two months of the summer vacation season, with daily visitor number peaking at 768,000.

The city’s urban management bureau has been conducting weekly inspections to ensure quality services and environment conservation at the beaches. On Sept 5 the bureau released its ratings, in which the Lingshan Wan, the second and the sixth bathing beaches ranked top three.

As the temperatures go down, all the eight bathing beaches will close - the first bathing beach on Oct 31 and the rest on Sept 25.

In the remaining time of the beaches operation, safety inspections will be intensified, considering the foreseeable temperature changes and the increase of windy weathers.
