An international wedding expo took place at an auditorium inside the Badaguan scenic area in Shinan district, in the city of Qingdao in Shandong province from Nov 1 to 4.

The event took on the theme of “new era, new fashion, new industry and new life”. World–famous wedding dress brand Pronovias and Vera Wang debuted as part of the wedding dress releases on the launch day.

An international wedding industry summit was held on the same day. Representatives of the Committee of Wedding Service Industry, under the China Association of Social Workers, and industry experts from Sanya in Hainan province and Bali Island, Indonesia, gave speeches on wedding destinations, exploring the integration of wedding industry and tourism.

Local members of the wedding industry and tourism discussed with international experts on the development of wedding industry in Qingdao and the upgrading of tourism in the city.

Data shows that Qingdao attracts more than 100,000 couples annually to take wedding photos, enjoy honey moons in the East China city, where the scenic coastal area in Shinan district has become one of the most popular wedding destinations in the country.

The district sees wedding, tourism and cultural industries as driving forces for green and sustainable development and has been striving to build itself as an appealing wedding destination with rich product options.

In the future, the district plans to introduce famous wedding photography studios and foster international brands in wedding industry and tourism.
