Hong Kong Police say the blame they’ve received from Occupy Central protesters for not responding more quickly to incidents is 'totally unreasonable and unfair'.

The chief superintendent of Hong Kong’s Police Public Relations Bureau, Hui Chun-tak, made the comment at a regular press briefing on Saturday afternoon. He said the clashes in the Mong Kok neighborhood have caused significant disruptions, including five attacks and in six arrests since noon on Friday.

Hui reiterated that the occupation of the city’s roads is illegal, and police will take appropriate actions to maintain law and order.
