China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) pledged to enhance their cooperation in Beijing on Wednesday.
A reception was held in Beijing Wednesday evening by the DPRK embassy to China to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the DPRK.
Addressing the reception, Ismail Tiliwaldi, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, said that China-DPRK good neighborly and friendly cooperation has been strengthened with joint efforts of both countries during the past 60 years.
China has always cherished the traditional friendship with the DPRK, he said, adding that China would like to further bilateral ties in the spirit of "inheriting the tradition, facing to the future, developing the good-neighborly relations and strengthening cooperation," to make new contribution to regional peace, stability and development.
DPRK ambassador to China Choe Jin Su said the DPRK is willing to take the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and the Year of DPRK-China Friendship as the new starting point to push DPRK-China friendly relationship to a new height.
