Campus officials said Tuesday a shooting killed one worker in Ohio State University in Columbus. Two people were wounded, including the suspect, who was in custody.
Campus police chief Paul Denton told reporters the suspect was a university employee, who fired on co-workers in a campus maintenance building Tuesday, killing one, wounding another. The suspect was also wounded. No students were injured.
The two wounded were taken to university medical center for treatment. One of them was in critical condition, and the other was stable.
Denton said the police had taken the suspect into custody, and they have searched the area. He said they were still trying to pin down a motive. He didn't offer further details of the shooting.
The university hasn't announced any plans to cancel classes or evacuate students. |
