Tibet received 130,000 tourists from home and abroad in the first two months of 2010, according to the Tibet Autonomous Regional Tourism Bureau.
The figure represented a 7.2 percent rise over the same period of last year, an official of the bureau said. Among the tourists were 5,500 foreigners, up eight percent year on year.
The number of tourists to the region is projected to reach 148,000 by the end of March this year, the official added.
Tibet earned a tourism revenue of 86 million yuan in the first two months this year, up 8.5 percent, according to the Lhasa Evening News.
