21 dead, 270,000 homeless in Sri Lankan floods

Sri Lanka's government says three more people have been killed by widespread floods and mudslides, bringing the death toll from days of heavy rain to 21.

The Disaster Management Center said Thursday that more than a million people have been affected by the rains, with 270,000 becoming homeless.

Many villages in Eastern Province have been inundated, with some cut off from supplies.
