Hainan Airlines is scheduled to open a new flight route between Beijing and Zurich, Switzerland on May 31 this year, the company announced on Wednesday.

This will be its fifth direct flight route to Europe, with the other four linking Beijing to Budapest in Hungary, Brussels in Belgium and Berlin in Germany, as well as Shanghai to Brussels.

The new carrier, 7957/7958, will offer three round-trip flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays departing from Beijing at 1:50 am and arriving at Zurich at 7:50 am (local time). The return flight departs from Zurich at 1:20 pm (local time) and arrives at Beijing at 3:20 pm.

Hainan Airlines will launch a discounted air ticket for the round-trip economy class from May 31 to June 30 and it will cost 2,990 yuan per person.
