At least ten people have been missing since Thursday when an avalanche swept over a mountain road in the Tibet Autonomous Region, local authorities said on Saturday.
The avalanche was reported at a mountain road that links Pome County and Metok County in the Nyingchi Prefecture, according to a statement from the local government.
The avalanche trapped more than 100 people, most of whom were local residents and workers at a road construction site, it said.
As of Saturday, rescuers had excavated most of those who had been trapped, though at least ten people have yet to be found. Rescue work is ongoing.
