Taiwan is considering a mobile phone ban in schools after World Health Organisation's warning that the devices' radio-frequency electromagnetic fields are "possibly carcinogenic", leading to an increased risk of cancer, AFP reported.
An official told the news agency that the island's education authority is planning to host a meeting with experts and school representatives to discuss the issue. Though, the timing hasn't been decided set yet.
The report quoting local surveys said about 57 percent of Taiwan students aged between six and 18 are mobile phone users and 62 percent of them bring the devices to school.
