Top 10 private companies in China 2011

Huawei, a leading information and communication technology company, tops the list of China's Top 500 Private Companies of 2011 with a business revenue of 185.17 billion yuan for last year, released by All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce on Aug. 25.

According to this year's list, China's top 500 private companies gained an average business revenue of 13.97 billion yuan (US $2.18 billion) in the last year, and their average assets reached 11.77 billion yuan (US $1.84 billion).

The followings are the top 10 private companies in China of 2011:

   Guangsha Holdings (广夏控股创业投资有限公司)

   Business revenue in 2010: 60.3 billion yuan (US$9.4 billion)

The predecessor of Guangsha Holding Venture Capital Co., Ltd. was a small construction firm founded in 1973 in Dongyang County, Zhejiang Province. After years of development, the company became the first construction corporation in China which went public in 1997 (stock code: 600052). Now, it has branched out from its roots in real estate and construction to various areas, including energy, banking, medical care, education and hospitality. In 2010, the total assets of Guangsha reached 23 billion yuan (US$3.6 billion), and the corporation has spread its subsidiaries all over the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Middle East, North Africa, South America, Europe and America.
