Geely Group is a holding company and parent of Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd., a private automobile manufacturer in China. Founded in 1986 as a refrigerator-maker, Geely started manufacturing motorcycles in 1994, and began to make automobiles in 2001. At the end of 2009, Geely sold less than its 680,000 unit-per-year manufacturing capacity and bought Volvo Cars from Ford. So far, aside from automobile manufacture and sales, the company also involves in the research, production, marketing, and sales of automobile parts including transmissions, engines and other related components.
