Lenovo was born after the merger of two storied companies in technology and business: Legend Holdings in China and IBM's Personal Computing Division in the U.S. It is a leading computer technology corporation that develops, manufactures and markets desktop and notebook personal computers, workstations, servers, storage devices, IT management software and related services. In 2010, the company's total assets was 114.9 billion yuan (US$17.95 billion), and its consolidated revenue reached 146.6 billion yuan (US$22.9 billion), making it the largest computer vendor in China and the third largest vendor of personal computers in the world.
