Shagang Group was founded in 1975 in Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province. After over 30 years of development, the group now has become the largest private steel corporation in China. In 2010, the annual production capacity of Shagang was 25.06 million tons of iron, 30.12 million tons of steel and 28.6 million tons of coiled metal products. The company possessed total assets of 150 billion yuan (US$23.46 billion), with the sales revenue of 178.6 billion yuan (US$27.9 billion).
