CNTV, April 7, 2012

A Turkish officials said on Friday that around 800 refugees were transferred to camps in the southern province of Sanliurfa over safety concerns.

Earlier on Friday, a Syrian helicopter had been seen hovering on the Syrian side of the border in clear view of refugees at a camp. This has sparked fears among refugees that they may be attacked.

The Turkish government has set up additional camps in the Ceylanpinar district of Sanliurfa province and a purpose-built container city in Kilis province for the refugees.

According to Turkish officials, more than 2,800 Syrians fled across the border to Turkey from the region of Idlib on Thursday. That's more than double the highest previous one-day total.

The refugees all crossed close to the Turkish village of Bukulmez, and more have been waiting on the other side of the border.
