China expresses hope to further improve relations with France

China has sent a congratulatory message to Hollande, and expressed its hope to further improve relations with France.

Hong Lei, spokesman of Chinese Foreign Ministry, said, "China congratulates Hollande on winning the French presidency. Maintaining a good momentum in a healthy, stable Sino-French relationship is in the basic interests of two peoples, and in the interest of world peace, stability and development. The two countries shall view relations with a long term perspective. And exercise mutual respect of each other's core interests. China would like to work together with France, and push forward the strategic partnership."
