Chinese Super League (CSL) side Guizhou Renhe confirmed on Monday that they are in talks with Chelsea star midfielder Frank Lampard over his move to China.
"We've been in close contact with Lampard for quite a long time, but so far nothing has been settled," deputy club chairman Yang Xiaoyu told Xinhua.
It came after Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo said on Sunday that he knew nothing about reports that the Blues' captain will be transferred to Chinese Super League during the winter.
"Not so far as I concerned," said the Italian in the press conference after Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League clash.
Yang said Lampard was just one of Renhe's targets.
"We had also contacts with several other stars as well as promising young players," he said.
Renhe qualified for their first AFC Champions League competition with a fourth-place finish in the league, which ended last week.
The club is based in Guiyang in the southwestern province of Guizhou.
The team, which is managed by former China national team coach Gao Hongbo, includes former Manchester City defender Sun Jihai.
