Landslides in Central Java on Wednesday killed one person, injured two others and left 5 people missing, official said here.
The natural disaster took place at 09:45 a.m. Jakarta time at Plompong village of Brebes district, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman of national disaster management agency told Xinhua by phone. The disaster occurred when the eight farmers were harvesting their corn, he said. Searching for the missing persons temporarily stopped due to heavy rain and would be resumed on Thursday, said Sutopo. Indonesia has been frequently hit by landslide during heavy rain.
