The Third China Children's Theater Festival opens

The third Children's Theater Festival kicked off in Beijing last Friday. Gu Xiulian, vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress of China, attended the launching ceremony.

Lei Xining, secretary of the Party Committee of China Children's Theater, made a keynote speech on Friday evening during the opening ceremony of the festival. He said, the ideology that "'everything is for the children' is the relentless pursuit of professionals working in China's children's theater. It's the core notion of the festival."

Primary school students from northeast China's Heilongjiang province were invited to participate in the opening ceremony and expressed their dreams on the stage in front of 600 audience members.
