Li Na of China returns a shot to Olga Govortsova of Belarus during their 2013 US Open women's single match at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, on August 26, 2013 in New York. |
Fifth-seeded Li Na cruised into the second round of the U.S. Open with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Olga Govortsova of Belarus on Monday.
At the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the world No.6 took just 64 minutes to dispose of her opponent. Li didn't face a break point and had 28 winners.
The U.S. Open has been the least successful Grand Slam event for the Chinese star, who has advanced past the fourth round only once. The 2011 French Open champ came in just 4-3 in her first match at Flushing Meadows.
Li next plays either Petra Cetkovska of the Czech Republic or Sofia Arvidsson of Sweden.
