China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng Tuesday stressed further reform to provide high-quality and equal education service for the people.
Yu joined political advisors from the education sector in a panel discussion on the sidelines of the annual session of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), which opened Monday.
Education is the foundation of the nation's revival and social progress, said Yu, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.
The country's education reform should focus on the problems people care about most and try to meet people's need of diversified education services, he said, adding that the reform should help create an education system of Chinese characteristics and full of vitality.
He urged political advisors from this sector to contribute their wisdom to education reform.
