25 sent to hospital after school gas leak in Sweden

An elementary school in southern Sweden was evacuated after gas leak on campus, with one teacher and 24 students being sent to receive medical care, local media reported Wednesday.

The elementary school in the southern city Karlstad reported the gas leak to the local police after the smell of gas spread through the rooms, said the Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter (DN).

Those who were affected by the gas leak suffered from cough and sick feeling, but "no one was seriously ill", Ylva Winther, the principal of the school was quoted as saying by the DN.

At the moment the source of gas is still unknown and experts are already on the way to Karlstad to work on finding the source, DN reported.
