Actress Sun Li has baby girl

Chinese actress Sun Li gave birth to a baby girl in Hong Kong last night.

"Deng Deng's younger sister has come," Sun wrote on her microblog. Deng Deng is her son, who was born on Nov. 12, 2011.

Sun married Chinese actor Deng Chao in 2010 after they acted together in the TV drama "Happiness as Flowers". Deng is a well-known film and TV drama actor.

In 2012, the couple starred in the film "Mural" which was a box-office success, making more than 180 million yuan (US$29.56 million), and the theme song, sung by the couple, also became popular.

In the same year, Sun starred in the 76-episode TV drama "Legend of Zhen Huan" which centers on the stories of Emperor Yongzheng's concubines in the Imperial Palace during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Sun's popularity skyrocketed when the TV drama made its debut. The drama was later broadcast in Taiwan and will be introduced in the United States.

As one of the most famous film and TV drama actresses on the Chinese mainland, Sun was nominated on Oct. 8, 2013, for the 41st International Emmy Awards in the Best Actress category for her role in the TV drama "Legend of Zhen Huan."
