Two more officials have been arrested and four are being investigated after the deaths of 21 dead miners in a flood at a pit in southwest China's Yunnan Province, said authorities on Tuesday.
The Qilin district people's procuratorate in Qujing City arrested Hang Zizeng and Huang Junbo, head and deputy head of Gaojia village mine administration, for suspected dereliction of duty and started investigations into four other work safety officials.
A flood occurred in Xiahaizi mine in Qujing on April 7. The mine was operating illegally at the time.
Eleven local officials in charge of work safety were removed or suspended from their posts after the accident. Seven people, including the board chairman, the legal representative and the manager of the coal mine, were detained by police.
