Actress Yang Mi gives birth to baby girl

• Chinese actress Yang Mi gave birth to a baby girl on June 1, Children's Day, via Caesarean section in Hong Kong.

  Hong Kong actor Hawick Lau, Yang's husband, announced the baby's arrival in his micro blog.

  "Welcome the new member of the Lau family! Mum had it tough! Both mother and daughter are safe! Gratitude! Wish all the kids and my little Nuomi a happy Children's day!" he posted.

  The baby was named Nuomi because the next day, June 2, is the Chinese Duanwu Festival when people eat a kind of traditional food called Nuomi Zongzi.

  Lau, 39, married Yang, 27, in January after about two-year dating. The baby is the couple's first child.
