Xinglong Mountain is a national natural forest protection area 60 km outside of Lanzhou, the capital of western China's Gansu Province. With an altitude of 2,400 meters, this has been a sacred place for Taoists to meditate and cultivate their spirits since as far back as the West Zhou Dynasty (1046 BC - 771 BC).
