Embattled smartphone maker BlackBerry is denying reports Samsung has approached the company for a possible 7.5-billion-dollar acquisition.
The denial has sent Canada-based BlackBerry shares tumbling some 16 percent in after-hours trading.
Fueled by reports of a possible acquisition bid, BlackBerry's shares had surged over 30 percent.
This follows reports Chinese PC maker Lenovo attempted to buy BlackBerry at least a couple of times.
But it's been reported both attempts didn't go far, in part, because of national interest concerns which may have been expressed by the Canadian government.
