Photo shows the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The temple was built during the reign of Tubo King Songsten Gampo (605-650 CE) to celebrate his marriage with Princess Wencheng of Tang Dynasty. It was also Tibet's first Buddhist temple. Designated as World Cultural Heritage in 2000, it is the ultimate pilgrimage destination for Tibetan pilgrims.With a history of over 1,300 years, the Jokhang Temple enjoys a supreme status in the Tibetan Buddhism and attracts a great number of pilgrims every day.
