Medvedev hails 'historical peak' in China-Russia ties

Russia's Prime Minister says relations between Russia and China have never been as good as they are now. Dmitry Medvedev said the two countries are enjoying a period of high mutual trust and economic cooperation.

"Our relations with China are equal and friendly. Frankly, I can say after centuries' development, our relations have climbed to a historical peak today, which were never reached even before Russia's October Revolution or during the Soviet Union period. We need each other. Russia needs a solid partner like China. China has a huge market and good capital strength. China also needs the Russian market. We also share identical or similar opinions on many major global issues. We have together established many platforms of cooperation and communication, such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS bloc," Medvedev said.
