Jurassic World Director to take on 'Star Wars: Episode IX'

• After directing the biggest block buster this season, Jurassic World Director Colin Trevorrow is now getting ready to take on the Star Wars franchise.

  Disney has announced just announced that Trevorrow will direct Star Wars Episode 9, that is set for release in 2019.

  Star Wars: Episode 9 will conclude the third trilogy of the Star Wars movies. It begins with Star Wars: The Force Awakens that will hit theatres world-wide on December 18 this year.

  While production of the latest Star Wars franchise will not begin for a few years, Trevorrow is heading to Lucasfilm this year to begin working with artists and his fellow Star Wars directors.

  Just days ago, J.J. Abrams confirmed that he would not be returning for the finale of this new trilogy, although he'll likely be involved as a producer.

  Trevorrow's career has certainly skyrocketed over the past few years, from directing the indie film Safety Not Guaranteed, to helming the hugely profitably Jurassic Park sequel, and now into a galaxy far, far away.
