The first Chinese-American female judge Lillian Sing says she is concentrating on helping comfort women after her retirement.

The former judge officially retired on September 17, 2015, after working for 32 years in San Francisco, Northern California.
She says now she has retired, and she will focus on helping comfort women in World War II fight for compensation and urge San Francisco authorities to build a monument for them.
Lillian was born in 1942 in Shanghai, east of China, and moved to the United States for further studies when she was 15.
She started to become concerned about Nanjing and comfort women issue after reading The Rape of Nanking written by journalist Iris Chang.
"There will be no peace without apologies," she says.
According to Lillian, Japan still has no intention of apologizing and many perpetrators never admit they are guilty, which she says is an injustice to the departed.
