Built in 1960, Miyun Reservoir in northern Beijing has a capacity of 4.4 billion cubic meters and a surface area of up to 188 square km. Thanks to upstream rainfall and the South-to-North Water Diversion Project delivering water from central China's Hubei Province, the water stored at Miyun Reservoir, Beijing's largest, hit a 17-year record of 1.9 billion cubic meters on September 11.[Photo by Sun Tao/China.org.cn]
