One Chinese dead in Montreal air crash

One Chinese citizen has died and another injured after two small planes collided above a shopping mall in Montreal on Friday, according to the Canadian city's Chinese consulate.

Local police said two planes collided in the air over Saint Bruno, in Montreal at around 1pm local time; one plane crashed onto the roof of the shopping mall and the other came down

According to the consul, the two Chinese citizens involved were both male pilot cadets receiving training in a local flying school.

The Chinese consulate has contacted the flying school in the hope of finding out how the accident happened, and is providing assistance.

Weather conditions were reportedly good when the accident occurred. A further investigation is now underway.
