Madrid police hunt for man after pub shootings

Police are searching for a man who shot and killed two people in a nightclub in the town of Alcorcon close to the Spanish capital of Madrid.

The incident happened at around 6 a.m. local time as the killer entered the bar and opened fire.

The two victims are described as a middle-aged man, who was working as a barman, and a woman, who was also in the establishment.

Meanwhile a 43-year-old man reported in the Spanish media as being the woman's husband, was shot in the leg.

The barman is reported as having received several shots to the head, while the woman was shot in the chest and died despite a half-hour emergency medical efforts.

After the shooting, the killer left the establishment and police are working under the hypothesis that he was known to his victims.
