Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev has amended Kyrgyzstan's anti-terrorism laws, which now call for the official publication of a list of terrorist organizations, the president's press service reported on Thursday.

Under the amendments, those in charge of ensuring national security are obliged to make a single list of organizations recognized as terrorists and publish it annually in print media and on official government websites.

The purpose is to counteract the influence of radical extremist ideology on young people and timely inform the public about the terrorist organizations recognized by the courts of Kyrgyzstan.

On April 5 this year, members of the Kyrgyz Parliament, while discussing amendments to anti-terrorism laws, proposed to publish an updated list of terrorist organizations annually.

There are 20 such organizations in Kyrgyzstan.
