The ongoing five-day Second Meeting of Myanmar's 21st Century Panglong Peace Conference, which was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, has been extended for one more day.

Facts discussed by representatives during the conference will be submitted to the Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee (UPDJC) Sunday by its secretariat after review and then the agreed points will be confirmed to be included in the union agreement.

Meanwhile, seven Northern Alliance non-ceasefire signatory armed groups have left the conference on Saturday for home without reaching agreements but all accepted the idea of going through further dialogue.

The seven Northern Alliance armed groups, led by the United Wa State Army (UWSA), were received by State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi separately at the sidelines of the conference on Friday.

The second meeting of the Panglong Peace Conference, which began on Wednesday, was attended by some 1,400 representatives from the government, the parliament, the military, invited political parties, ethnic armed organizations and civil society.

The 15 ethnic armed organizations, present at the event, also include eight signatories to the NCA, led by the Kayin National Union (KNU).
