British Secretary of State for Middle East and North Africa Andrew Morrison assured on Friday that Britain will maintain its military support for Lebanon, a statement by the presidency's office reported.
"I have visited the northern borders of the country and followed up on the activities of the Lebanese army in the area," Morrison said.
The British official's remarks came during his meeting with President Michel Aoun at Baabda Palace.
Morrison also met with Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil to reiterate Britain's continued commitment to supporting Lebanon.
"Many of my conversations during this trip will focus on the UK's support for a strong, stable and prosperous Lebanon," he said.
