At least 12 people have been killed and dozens injured in separate road accidents in Bangladesh.
Eight people were killed in two separate road accidents in the country's central Faridpur district, some 101 kilometers away from capital Dhaka.
Md Russell, a highway police officer, said the incidents took place in two separate places in the district early Sunday.
According to the official, dozens of others have also been injured in the accidents.
Earlier on Saturday afternoon, at least four people were killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses in the country's Bogura district, 197 km northwest of Dhaka, said Ratan Hossain, a local Fire Service and Defence station officer.
Bangladesh has a higher fatality rate for road accidents in the world due to shoddy highways, poorly maintained vehicles, violation of traffic rules by inept drivers and lack of monitoring by the traffic department.
