A total of 300 Afghans have been commissioned to the police force in the southern Kandahar province after receiving military training, a trainer at Abudjana training center Hamidullah Edris said Wednesday.

Participants of the 50-day training course had learned how to deal with criminals, behave with the people and control traffic on streets and highways, the official added.

On Tuesday, a total of 200 youth were commissioned to national police in the eastern Kapisa province after receiving the necessary training.

Many Afghans are critical of wandering armed men without uniforms on the streets.

The Interior Ministry has promised that the police would soon have special uniforms to be differentiated from irresponsible armed men.
