Vietnam posted an estimated foreign trade value of 497.64 billion U.S. dollars in the first eight months of this year, up 15.5 percent year on year, with a trade surplus of 3.96 billion dollars, the General Statistics Office said Tuesday.
Specifically, the export revenue stood at 250.8 billion dollars, up 17.3 percent, while the import revenue increased 13.6 percent year on year to 246.84 billion dollars.
The United States remained Vietnam's biggest importer with turnovers of 77.7 billion dollars, and China was its largest exporter with turnovers of 82.1 billion dollars over the period, according to the office.
