One South Korean military service member was injured after two helicopters of the army made an emergency landing following their collision, Yonhap news agency reported Thursday citing the army.
The two homegrown Surion choppers made the emergency landing at about 12:16 p.m. local time (0316 GMT) after colliding at a low altitude during their flight training in Pocheon, some 46 km north of the capital Seoul.
Of the total 18 service members aboard the helicopters, one suffered a minor injury to his head. He was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
No civilian casualty has been reported, and the fuselages of the choppers were not heavily damaged.
The army formed an investigation committee to look into the exact cause of the incident.
