With the theme of "China in the New Era: Developing Towards Openness and Inclusiveness," the International Youth Dialogue included two sessions, focusing on the 20th CPC National Congress and cultural exchanges, respectively.

More than 40 international students from 24 countries studying in China exchanged ideas with five panelists on a wide range of topics, such as Chinese modernization, China's experience in poverty alleviation, and the role of youth in enhancing cultural exchanges.

The event was jointly organized by the China Center for International Communication Development (CCICD) of China International Communications Group (CICG), the China National Academy of Governance, and Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU).

In her opening remarks, Chen Shi, deputy editor-in-chief of CICG, said that young people play an important and dynamic role in promoting social progress, mutual learning among civilizations, and global cooperation.

"Youth are the most innovative group with an insatiable thirst for knowledge," she said. "Communication and mutual learning among young people from different countries, ethnic groups and cultural backgrounds can help eliminate misunderstandings and create a better world."

Chen, also director general of CCICD, encouraged young people to closely follow global issues, practice the common values of humanity, and contribute to global governance and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Dong Qing, director general of the International Cooperation Department of the China National Academy of Governance, introduced the academy and welcomed more exchanges with international youth.

Liu Li, president of BLCU, called on international students to visit more places and communicate with more people in China to gain a multi-dimensional view of the country.

Liu said that international students act as ambassadors of friendship between China and the rest of the world, and encouraged them to share their firsthand experience with families and friends in their home countries to promote people-to-people connectivity.
