The Egyptian and United Arab Emirates (UAE) militaries conducted a second airdrop of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, Egyptian military spokesman Gharib Abdel-Hafez said on Thursday.
Upon instructions from Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi to maintain the air bridge for delivering urgent aid to the Palestinians in Gaza, several Egyptian and UAE aircraft took off from Egypt's al-Arish Airport in North Sinai province, Abdel-Hafez said.
The aid, including large quantities of food, medicine and other essential supplies, was air-dropped to multiple locations in the northern region of the Gaza Strip. These areas are facing severe shortages of necessities as a result of the continuing Israeli military operations, he added.
On Tuesday, Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Qatar, and France airdropped 45 tons of humanitarian aid to northern and central Gaza.
