Vietnam's northern China-bordering Lao Cai province is committed to fully leveraging its border advantages to advance mutually beneficial collaboration with China, said provincial leader Trinh Xuan Truong Friday.

Truong, secretary of the Lao Cai provincial Party Committee and chairman of the People's Committee, said that the province will enhance cross-border infrastructure connectivity, actively explore the construction of cross-border economic cooperation zones, and deliver enduring benefits to the people.

Truong made the remarks when meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi, while emphasizing the broad prospects of bilateral subnational exchanges and cooperation.

For his part, He noted growing opportunities in bilateral ties and urged Lao Cai to deepen alignment with the Belt and Road Initiative as a regional development hub.
