Jordan Islamists slam Syrian army's violations against its sovereignty
AMMAN, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Jordan's Muslim Brotherhood on Saturday condemned "repeated violations" by the Syrian army against Jordan's sovereignty.
"We completely reject the violations by the Syrian army against the Jordanian territories and we reject the violence practiced by the Syrian army against the Syrians who flee to Jordan," the Islamic movement said in a statement on its website.
On Friday, the Syrian army opened fire on a group of Syrian refugees who were attempting to flee into Jordan. Local media reports indicated that a Jordanian soldier at the borders sustained injuries in the shooting, which also led to the death of a four-year-old Syrian boy who was crossing the border into Jordan illegally along with his family.
The Islamic movement referred to efforts exerted by the Jordanian Armed Forces in helping the Syrians in Jordan and providing them with assistance.
More than 150,000 Syrians have fled to neighbor countries since the start of the 17-month unrest, according to official figures. Enditem
