Syrian forces hit 9 rebels in Aleppo, activists report shelling
DAMASCUS, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Syrian army forces have tracked down armed groups in Sakhour area of northern Aleppo province, rendering nine of the rebels killed or injured, the state media said Monday, as activists reported shelling on areas of the same restive province.
The state-run SANA news agency reported the hunt in Sakhour on Monday and added that the Syrian forces have wrested back control over Qarabes area of Homs after "purging" it from armed groups.
SANA also said the authorities thwarted Monday two infiltration attempts by armed groups from Jordan.
Meanwhile, opposition activists' Local Coordination Committees said the Syrian forces shelled Monday the Deir Hafer and Sukkari districts of Aleppo, which has been witnessing severe clashes since last week between rebels and government forces. Enditem
