Algeria offers shelter to Syrian refugees
ALGIERS, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Algeria has provided shelter to Syrian refugees who fled violence in their country, the official APS news agency reported Tuesday.
"Concerning Syrian nationals who entered the country, I confirm that this matter has been taken care of by the Algerian authorities, following several inter-ministerial coordination meetings," Amar Belani, spokesman for Algeria's Foreign Ministry, was quoted as saying.
Citing a government source, the local TSA news website reported Tuesday that more than 12,700 Syrian refugees have entered Algeria since the outburst of unrest in the country last year. Enditem
